I was born in Ukraine but moved to United States in mid 90’s. An engineer by training, I have always loved arts and had a strong leaning to painting. My father was a self-taught painter and taught me to paint when I was very young, but I did not have an opportunity to truly dedicate myself to art before moving to United States. Similarly, I have always enjoyed country life, but had spent most of my life in a big city.
So all kinds of inspirations came my way when I moved to a farm in New Hampshire, and mixed with the longing for the people and culture I left behind. I was most drawn to Orthodox icons for the historical and spiritual aspect they added to my artistic expression.
I now consider myself an iconographer first and artist second.
I will soon be launching another web page dedicated solely to my non-iconographic art.
If you would like to find out more about my work, please feel free to contact me by email (link on top).
